A Pink Floyd azonos című, tematikus albuma inspirálta ezt a nagyszerű, nyugodtan mondhatjuk, hogy filmtörténeti jelentőségű, rendkívül hatásos alkotást. A sötét hangulatú film kizárólag a dalok segítségével meséli el Pink, egy depressziós, kiégett, kétségbeesett rock-zenész történetét.

Megismerhetjük Pink élettörténetét, azokat az állomásokat, amelyek a "fal" építéséhez hozzájárultak. A fal természetesen metafóra, az elszigeteltség, magányosság, kiúttalanság jelképe, egy gát, melyet Pink emelt, hogy távolságot tudjon tartani saját fájdalmaitól, problémáitól. A fal alapjait Pink a gyerekkorban "rakta le": apja halála után domináns anyja és szigorú iskolája ejtették lelkében az első nagyobb sebeket. Az írásba és zeneszerzésbe menekül, de a szabadságot sikeres rock-zenészként sem érheti el. A fal most is tovább épül, hiszen a népszerűség csapdájába esve értékrendje felbomlik és személyes kapcsolatai kudarcra lesznek ítélve.

2005. augusztusában a Rómeó és Júlia című nagysikerű musical a Szegedi Szabadtéri Játékokon vendégszerepelt, ahol a hatalmas méretű színpadon, monumentális díszletekkel, káprázatos jelmezekkel és több, mint 200 táncos és statiszta közreműködésével 7 előadásban, 30 ezer néző láthatta.

Itt készült a produkció DVD változata, több mint tíz kamerával, megörökítve a magyarországi előadást szenzációs szereposztással: Dolhai Attila, Szinetár Dóra, Szabó P. Szilveszter, Bereczki Zoltán, Mészáros Árpád Zsolt, Németh Attila, Földes Tamás, Náray Erika, Janza Kata, Csengeri Ottília, Homonnay Zsolt, Csuha Lajos.

A Shakespeare színműve alapján készült mű története mindenki számára ismerős. Gérard Presgurvic, a zeneszerző és egyben szövegíró, így nyilatkozott az alkotásról: "A Rómeó és Júlia a világirodalom legromantikusabb és legtragikusabb darabja. Ennél jobb téma nem is kell egy jó musicalhez, hisszen van benne minden: gyűlölet, szerelem, félreértés, halál, esküvő, szabadság. Mindezen túl arra törekszem, hogy a Rómeó és Júlia ürügyén sok-sok új és aktuális érzést fedezzek fel magamban."
